OFFICE 295
OFFICE BUILDING – Charleroi
This office building takes a prominent corner site on one of the main axes leading to the Charleroi city centre. Playing between an efficient orthogonal grid and the perimeter of the site, the project proposes two sets of spaces – interior rooms defined by the grid, and adjacent triangular double-height winter gardens. The rectangular free plan allows the users to divide the space in various configurations, that can be used both for working and living. The columns are not only structural, but also perform as technical shafts and vertical circulation, thus leaving the plan without any additional elements. The triangular winter gardens make the subtle transition between a workplace and the city.
