OFFICE 195
FASHION STORE – Paris
A pair of spaces connected by a narrow corridor form the Paris flagship of the acclaimed fashion house. Two oblique-angled aluminum perimeters are inserted into the rooms to expose a delicate interior freed from existing spatial inconsistencies. The openable modular panels have a tripartite composition, with a plain sheet base, corrugated frieze and perforated aluminum shafts that offer a glimpse of everything behind the wall, including the shop window and cupboards inserted into the resulting margins. These transformable walls contain all display elements, serving as a background to the exhibited clothes. In contrast to these extroverted rooms, the passage in between is conceived as an enclosed intimate space, together with the fitting room and toilet in the back. A triangular parquet of natural cowhide repeats the geometry of the perimeter and uniformly covers the floor.
